Delivered directly into a vein
An IV bypasses the digestive tract, so fluids and nutrients enter circulation directly instead of depending on absorption in the gut.
IV therapy & wellness shots
Protea Medical Center offers physician-supervised IV therapies and wellness injections. Each visit starts with a brief health review to determine whether a treatment is appropriate for you.

About our program
IV therapy delivers fluids, vitamins and minerals through a vein. Wellness shots are short injections with a more focused purpose, such as B12. At Protea Medical Center in Tempe, both are offered within a naturopathic medical practice that has served Tempe patients since 2006.
Patients ask about IV therapy for different reasons, including hydration, energy, immune support and recovery after exercise or illness. Because an IV or injection is a medical treatment, every visit begins with a brief health review, and your provider will tell you if a particular drip or shot is not a good fit.
Established patients can talk with their physician about whether IV therapy belongs in their broader care plan. A limited selection is also available to people who are not yet Protea patients.

Your visit
Booking is by phone or text, and every visit begins with a short health review.
Reach our front desk at (480) 557-9095 to choose a day and time that works for you.
Before any IV or injection, our clinical team reviews your health and goals with you to decide whether it is appropriate and which option fits.
Drips are given in our IV suite, where you can sit back for the length of the infusion. A wellness shot is a quick injection.
If you are an established patient, your physician can talk with you about how IV therapy fits into the rest of your care.
IV therapy basics
An IV bypasses the digestive tract, so fluids and nutrients enter circulation directly instead of depending on absorption in the gut.
Which drip or shot you receive, if any, is decided with your provider after a brief review of your health history and what you hope to address.
IV therapy can be a useful addition for some patients, but it does not replace the evaluation of ongoing symptoms. Your physician can discuss next steps if something persists.

Protea Medical Center reserves the right to modify or restrict available therapies at any time based on clinical judgment and patient safety.
Please complete required intake paperwork prior to your appointment.

No. A small selection of IV therapies is available without full patient enrollment: Myer's Cocktail (full size or fast size) and Immune Support (fast size only). Both are subject to provider discretion, and the required intake paperwork must be completed before your appointment.
It depends on the drip and the size you choose, and a wellness shot takes only a few minutes. When you book, our front desk can tell you how much time to plan for your visit.
Not every IV or injection is appropriate for every person. A brief health review before treatment helps your provider decide whether a drip or shot is suitable for you and which option fits your goals. Established patients can also discuss IV therapy with their physician as part of their overall care.
